    Carol (McCormick) St. Laurent of Avon, CT, died Monday, (June 25, 2012), at the age of 69, following a courageous six month battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She was born in Fall River, MA, with previous residences in Pittsford, NY, Great Falls, VA and Nashua, NH. Carol was a kind, loving and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren as well as her travel adventures throughout New England with her devoted husband, Maury St. Laurent. They would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on September 16th. She was the daughter of Mary McCormick Miller of Alexandria, VA and the late Lawrence McCormick. Mother to her beloved daughters, Michelle Winkleblack and husband Grant of Simsbury, CT and the late Danielle St. Laurent and her surviving spouse Jimmy of Houston, TX; sister to brothers John McCormick and wife Amra of Alexandria, VA and the late Michael McCormick; she was also the loving grandmother to grandchildren, Lauren, Katie and Drew. Carol's family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to all the wonderful people in the Oncology and Cancer Center units at the University of Connecticut Medical Center. Although she will be greatly missed by all who knew her, she inspired many with her incredible courage and strength.
    A private family service has been planned. Memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Attn: Donor Services, P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202. Vincent Funeral Home of Simsbury is caring for the arrangements.

    George A. Carroll, a retired Naval Torpedo Station employee, died yesterday in his home in Fall River. Previous to his station employment he was a maintenance man for the New Haven Railroad.
    He leaves his wife, Mrs. Catherine C. McDermott Carroll, a son, the Rev. John G. Carroll, curate at the Sacred Heart Parish, Fall River, two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Ferreira of Tiverton and Mrs. Lawrence McCormack of Fall River; two sisters, Mrs. John F. Powers and Miss Jennie Carroll, both of Fall River, four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
    Mr.Carroll wasa 50-year member of the SS Peter and Paul parish and belonged to its Holy Name Society and was a 50-year member of the Young Men's Irish American Society in Fall River.
    A soleman high mass of requirem will be celebrated in SS Peter and Paul Church at 10 A.M. Monday. Burial will be in St.Patrick's Cemetery.
