    DEATH OF HENRY BYER
    The Event Occurred Tuesday Night and was Very Sudden.
    Henry Byer, an aged and respected citizen of this village, died suddenly a little after eight o'clock Tuesday night at his home on Main street. Although he had been failing in health for a time he was able to be on the street and attend to his duties, and during Tuesday he felt unusually well, having been out and riding his horse until six o'clock when he went home, ate a hearty meal and gave no sign that his end was so near. When he did pass away it was but the work of a moment, he rose from his chair and was moving around the room when he fell over and in an instant he was dead, apoplexy being the cause.
    Mr. Byer was born in Germany and came here with his parents when young. He learned the shoemaker's trade and worked at it early and late, finally opening a store in which he continued to do business until 1892 when he sold to his son, P. W. Byer. He was a man of industrious habits and accumulated some means a thorough lover of children and horses, and a great reader, especially of religious papers and books. About sixty yearn ago he married Margaret Wagner in this village who survives, although very feeble, and he also leaves two sons and three daughters, Henry Byer of Quincy, ILL., P. W. Byer of this village, Mrs. B. F . Cromwell of Rochester, Misses Elizabeth and Hattie Byer who are at home. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at three o'clock at the house, and Rev. C. E. Odell will officiate, being assisted by Rev. S. H. Alling of Pittsford, a former rector of St. Peter's church and a friend of the family.

    Also possibly had another daughter that died before 1850 and may have been married to George Kershner and had a daughter Susan b.1846....This is all specualtion as in the 1850 census George and Susan are living with Frederick.
