    Benjamin M. "Ben" Weiler age 44, passed away late Monday morning February 18, 2019, surrounded by his wife and children following a battle with cancer.

    He was born in Dansville on February 7, 1975. He was a son of Frederick and Linda (Smalt) Weiler. On July 28, 2012, he was married to Saunya Kramer Weiler, who survives.

    Ben was a heavy equipment operator for Local 158 Operator's Union. He worked very hard to support his growing family and to provide for their needs. In his free time, he enjoyed riding motorcycle and snowmobiling.

    Surviving in addition to his wife Saunya are three daughters, Kali Rollman, Kristen and Kari Weiler, three sons, Kyle Weiler, Devon and Seth Ebert, a granddaughter Lydia Mae Weiler, dear grandmother Esther Prouty, parents Fred and Linda Weiler, siblings, Brenda (Eric) Tenpast, Brian (Linda) Norton, Matthew (Wendy) Weiler, Shannon Bazan and Jonathon Call, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

    Frederick M. Weiler Sr., 86, of Gibson St. Extension, Dansville, passed away early Friday morning Sept. 24, 1993 in the Livingston County Campus Skilled Nursing Facility in Mt. Morris. He was born in Covington, N.Y. on Dec. 26, 1906, the son of Martin and Mary Cain Weiler. He was a welding instructor at Foster Wheeler Energy Corp. in Dansville for thirty years. During WW II he taught a student named Lydia Hamsher how to weld, she was later to become his wife on Oct. 12, 1953. Mr. and Mrs. Weiler owned and operated 'Freddy's Ready Hots,' for seventeen years with locations in Dansville, Hemlock and Cohocton. Surviving in addition to his wife Lydia is a son, Frederick (Linda) Weiler, Jr. of Dansville; two daughters, Sue (John) Hill and Judy (William) Farrell both of Dansville; sixteen grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Charles Weiler and a sister, Margaret Sheppard. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Hindle Funeral Home, 271 Main St., Dansville where services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev.     Lydia M. Weiler, 84, formerly of Gibson Street Extension, Dansville, passed away early Sunday evening (Aug. 25, 2002) at the Livingston County SNF, Mt. Morris, where she had been a resident for the past few weeks. She was born in Sparta on Nov. 13, 1917, a daughter of the late Charles A. and Flora Wagner Hamsher. On Oct. 12, 1953, she was married to Frederick M. Weiler, who predeceased her on Sept. 24, 1993. She was also predeceased by a brother, Charles Hamsher, and a sister, Evelyn Learn. Lydia was a welder at Foster Wheeler Energy Corp., Dansville, during WWII. Lydia and her husband, Fred, owned and operated Freddy's Ready Hot's in Dansville, Cohocton and Hemlock. She had also worked in the cafeteria at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville for 10 years, retiring in 1983. Lydia is survived by a son, Frederick C. (Linda) Weiler of Churchville; two daughters, Sue (John) Hill and Judy (Bill) Farrell, both of Dansville; 20 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hindle Funeral Home, 271 Main St., Dansville, where services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. G. Calvin Sheasley officiating. Interment will be in Kiehle Cemetery, Sparta.     Mrs. Flora H. Hamsher of Dansville RD 3 died Tuesday (August 5, 1980) at Noyes Memorial Hospital following a long illness. She was 90 years old.

    Born in Town of Sparta, she spent her entire life in that community. She was the widow of Charles J. Hamsher.

    Surviving are her daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Learn of West Sparta and Mrs. Lydia Weiler of Dansville; one son, Charles W. Hamsher of Sparta; 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

    Friends may call at the Chamberlin Funeral Home in Dansville today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held there at 1 p.m. Friday with burial in Union Cemetery in Scottsburg.

    In 1864 he went to Oil Creek, PA and was engaged in repairing wells. In March 1865, he entered the employ of the Old Columbia Oil Co. and has since been continuously with the company, working the first two years at carpentering, then foremn for 7 years. In August, 1873, he went to Butler County and was there until 1880, developing in that oil field. In Augst 1880, he went to Duke Center, remained 2 years, and then located at Bolivar where he now resides. In August 1893, he was appointed general superintendent of this company's oil operations.
