George's brothers-in-law, Joe Flint and Geo Morrison, also members of the 141st 'F' Co. are often mentioned in the letters (Joe wrote in two of them). Also includes an interesting poem about the history and travels of the 141st by Sergt Thomas D. Goundrey and other letters written by Kriedler as part of the GAR(1901-1913). All of these were passed on to me from Clifford(Bud) and Carol Whitney, of Belmont,NY - Bud got them from an abandoned house in Hornell,NY several years ago, found in the attic. This is a zip file that includes the individual letters, it is a large file (90mb), but well worth the download wait time. Some of the letter are faded, however with some digital enhancements they can be viewed - some rather clearly (I have done no editing with these other than sorting and cropping). | ||
