  • Canadice, Ontario County, NY - The law suit brought by Overseer James S. Putman against Charles Hartman of this town, for selling intoxicating cider, was tried on Friday of last week before Esquire Winch. John W. Byam of Livonia appeared as attorney for the prosecution and Fred Noyes of Dansville for the defendant. After a trial of considerable length the jury found a verdict of guilty, and the defendant was accordingly fined $50. Hartman is very much dissatisfied with the result, and an appeal is talked of.
