- Neal H. Weidman, 61, of Ossian Hill Rd. and owner of Weidman Excavating Co. of Dansville, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999. He was born in Ossian July 19, 1938 the son of the late Ray and Addie Linzy Weidman. Neal was a member of the Ithaca College and Dansville Sports Booster Clubs. He was also a social member of the Union Hose Fire Co. in Dansville. A very devoted father, he was a well-known contractor in the Livingston and Steuben County areas. He is survived by his daughters, Ruby (Carey) Gropp of Ossian and Addie Renee (Peter) Bacon of Dansville; sons Ray W. and Neal H. II of Ossian; stepdaughters Cathy (Harold) Wolfe, Mary Kerezman and Karen (Michael) Dimmick, all of Dansville, and Mary (Gilbert) Womack of Oxford, N.C.; brothers John (Arlene), Mark (Johanne), and Reid (Fran), all of Dansville, and Lynn (Marilyn) of Swain; several grandchildren, including special grandchildren, Noah and Allyson Bacon; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Hugh and sister Ruby. Friends called Monday 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 at the Chamberlin Funeral Home, Inc., 73 Main St., Dansville. A funeral service was held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Dansville Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Robert Booher officiating. Burial was to be in Wood Cemetery, Ossian.
