- Alton was a truck driver for five years and Foreman for 25 years at
Shay's Service in Dansville. After Shay's he worked fort he town of
North Dansville as a mechanic and truck driver. "Enjoys gardening."
DANSVILLE - Alton L. "Cy" Isaman, age 82, of Main St. in Dansville,
passed away early Thursday morning, Sept. 30, 2004, at Noyes Memorial
Hospital in Dansville, following a short illness.
He was born in the Town of Grove, on Feb. 15, 1922, a son of the late
Floyd Lewis and Mary Adell Bird. On Sept. 26, 1939, he was married to
Lucy Weidman Isaman, who survives. He was also predeceased by his
daughter Shirley Patterson, and siblings Elizabeth Guy, Katherine
Green, and Clarence Isaman.
Cy began working on the Lloyd Shay Farm in Ossian in 1935. In 1940 he
began his work at Shay's Service, Inc. in Dansville, in 1955 he became
the Truck Shop Foreman and Shay's Heavy Duty Towing Service operator,
a position he had held for many years. After retiring in 1997, Cy
continued repairing lawn mowers and small engines, out of his garage.
Surviving in addition to his dear wife Lucy; are a daughter, Barbara
(James) Mackey of Dansville, a granddaughter Michelle Mackey, also of
Dansville. A sister Dorothy Isaman of Rochester. Several nieces,
nephews, cousins, friends, and Betsy Marie II.
Friends may call Saturday, Oct. 2, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hindle
Funeral Home, 271 Main St., Dansville, where services will be held
Sunday, Oct. 3, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. David Hotchkiss officiating.
Interment will be in Wood Cemetery, Ossian.
