Eileen and Charles Kline were married July 3, 1939 at the Wayland United Methodist Church. Together, they celebrated 53 years of marriage prior to Charles passing away in August, 1992. Eileen was a school teacher for the majority of her working career, teaching at the Marrowback School and the Mt. Pleasant School, both one-room schools. At the age of 50, Eileen completed her bachelor's degree at SUNY Geneseo, becoming a certified teacher and began a career at the Craig Developmental Center in Sonyea, specializing in special education.
Eileen was a very active life member of the Springwater United Methodist Church. She was always lending a hand at church dinners and bazaars, and was a loyal Sunday school teacher. Her hobbies were many as she loved baking homemade bread, rolls and pies. She was an avid quilter and made many cathedral window pillows for several members of her family. Eileen took great pleasure in reading and taking walks to keep her mind and body strong. Her family was very important to her, and she visited with them whenever she could. Eileen was a strong and dedicated family woman who will be dearly missed by all.
