- Walter W. Lander, 81, of 411 Second Ave., Wayland, died Saturday (July 7, 1979) in Noyes Memorial Hospital, Dansville, following a short illness.
He was born on Sandy Hill in the Town of Dansville and resided in the Wayland area for 50 years. He was a retired Wood-croftery Shops employee in Wayland.
Surviving are his wife, Flora Loveland Lander; a son, Donald of Rochester; a daughter, Mrs. Alice Kiff of Bath; two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Gotschall of Bath and Mrs. Gertrude Hayes of Springwater; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was conducted Tuesday in the Walter E. Baird and Sons Funeral Home in Wayland. Burial was in Wayland Village Cemetery. (GCE, July 12, 1979, p10)
