She was born in Niederlanderweiler, Prussia, Germany, January 18,1846, and came to this country with her parents, Peter and Barbara Kennel, at the age of eleven years. She was the second oldest of a family of six, all of whom preceded her in death. She was married three times. Jacob Lander was her first husband, by whom she had two children, Jacob Lander of Corry, Pa., and Mrs. Fred Neu of Loon Lake. Her second marriage was to Henry Kimbel, also of South Dansville. To this union were born five children, of whom only one daughter, Mary, survives. Her third marriage was to Barney Armbruster, and to this union there were no children. Her husbands all preceded her in death. She was a resident of Wayland for forty-three years. She was a good mother and kind neighbor. She is survived by six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, besides a large number of nieces and nephews and a wide circle of friends. She was a painful sufferer with cancer of the face for which she got help but was stricken with a shock last December from which she never recovered. A second shock was the cause of her death. Through all her sickness she bore her crosses with a smile. Funeral services were held at the home Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, and at St. Paul's church in this village at 2:30, Rev. F. W. Duhl officiating, Burial was in the Wayland cemetery beside her daughter, Ella, who died four years ago last July.
