Weiler, 84, formerly of Gibson Street Extension, Dansville, passed away early Sunday evening (Aug. 25, 2002) at the Livingston County SNF, Mt. Morris, where she had been a resident for the past few weeks. She was born in Sparta on Nov. 13, 1917, a daughter of the late Charles A. and Flora Wagner Hamsher. On Oct. 12, 1953, she was married to Frederick M. Weiler, who predeceased her on Sept. 24, 1993. She was also predeceased by a brother, Charles Hamsher, and a sister, Evelyn Learn. Lydia was a welder at Foster Wheeler Energy Corp., Dansville, during WWII. Lydia and her husband, Fred, owned and operated Freddy's Ready Hot's in Dansville, Cohocton and Hemlock. She had also worked in the cafeteria at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville for 10 years, retiring in 1983. Lydia is survived by a son, Frederick C. (Linda) Weiler of Churchville; two daughters, Sue (John) Hill and Judy (Bill) Farrell, both of Dansville; 20 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hindle Funeral Home, 271 Main St., Dansville, where services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. G. Calvin Sheasley officiating. Interment will be in Kiehle Cemetery, Sparta. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Dansville Ambulance Fund, PO Box 235, Dansville, N.Y. 14437, or to the Livingston County SNF Activity Fund, Livingston County Campus, Mt. Morris, N.Y. 14510.
