Plot: FlicknerNotes - Betty L. Flickner, 71, formerly of Chestnut St., passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. Betty was born June 12, 1929 in Wayland, a daughter of Clyde and Pearl (Lander) Isaman. She married Carl W. Flickner on Sept. 13, 1950 in Pennsylvania. He predeceased her on Feb. 24, 1997. Betty was formerly a cashier at the Travelport Plaza in Dansville, retiring after 16 years. Betty was a member of the St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Perkinsville. She was a friend and helper to people all over the Dansville/Wayland area. She enjoyed playing bingo at most of the area bingo halls. She loved horses, but most of all, she loved her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by two daughters, Karen (Tom) Snowman of Cohocton and Shirley (Dennis) Rawleigh of Canaseraga; one son, Harold (Cheryl) Flickner of Dansville; eight grandchildren, Melissa Rawleigh and Jake Rawleigh, both of Canaseraga, Tommy (Becky) Snowman of Virginia, David Snowman of Florida, Elizabeth Snowman (Andre Green) and Jennifer (Matt) Schwartz, all of Cohocton, Justin Flickner and Jason Flickner (Melissa Jordan), both of Dansville; five great-grandchildren, Madelyn and Emily Schwartz and Arianna Green, both of Cohocton, Rachel Snowman and Samantha Pritchett of Virginia; her stepfather Ralph (Dorothy) Mehlenbacher of Wayland; two sisters, Donna Recktenwald of Dansville and Frances (Ray) Mehlenbacher of Cohocton, dear friend Henry Chapman of Dansville; and several nieces, nephews and cousin. Friends called 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Friday at the Walter E. Baird & Sons Funeral Home, 100 E. Naples St., Wayland, where funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, with Pastor Karen Christiansen officiating. Burial was in Greenmount Cemetery, Dansville. Contributions may be made to St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Main St., Perkinsville, NY ,14529 or the Canaseraga Ambulance, 7 Court Belmont, Canaseraga, NY 14822 in memory of Betty L. Flickner.
