She was said to have been hit over the head with an Iron Skillet, by her mother when she was young. At least from 1920 to her death she was a patient("inmate") and worked at the Willard State Hospital in Seneca County, New York. (Census records of 1920, 1925, 1930, and 1940 she is an inmate there)
