- Kenneth H. Cotton, 73, of 7291 North Main St. Ext., died Monday (Jan.
29, 2001) at St. James Mercy Hospital, following a long illness.
Born Nov. 28, 1927 in the Town of Willing, the son of Dorr and Dorothy
Foster Cotton. He was married April 16, 1949 in Hornell, to the former
Marilyn Norton, who survives. He was predeceased by his son, Kenneth
R. Cotton in 1977 and a brother, Bert C. Cotton, in 1984.
He was a former resident of Almond and had resided the past 51 years
in Hornell, where he was a heavy equipment operator for A.L. Blades &
Sons for 39 years, retiring in 1989.
A veteran of World War II, Ken served with the U.S. Army in Germany
and was a member of Arkport Memorial Post #1248 American Legion.
Ken was an avid bowler, hunter and enjoyed NASCAR.
Survivors besides his wife include; his daughter, Linda (John)
Faulkner of Arkport; a sister, Hazel (Clyde) Bracken of Almond; a
brother, Joseph (Patricia) Cotton of Watkins Glen; two grandchildren,
Shani Lynn Reams and Heidi Campbell; three great-grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday
(Jan. 31, 2001) at Robertson Funeral Home Inc., Hornell, where funeral
services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Jane Shumway
officiating. Final interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Almond.
