  Notes	Death of Aged Lady Mrs. Maria Lander, the aged mother of Mrs. James Krien of this village, Mrs. Hughes of Sparta East Hill, and Fritz Lander of Sandy Hill, died last Friday at the residence of her son on Sandy Hill, and waa buried on Monday at Perkinsville, the funeral service being conducted by Rev. Paul L. Menzel of the German Lutheran church. Mrs. Lander was born in Steinbach in Prussia, Oct 16, 1792, and was married in 1813. She came to this country in 1833 with her husband, who died some ten years ago. She had nine children, forty-seven grandchildren, and fifty-four great-grandchildren. A total of one hundred and ten. (The Dansville Express, Thursday, February 14, 1878) DEATH OF MRS. MARIA LANDER. This aged and respected German lady died last Friday on Sandy hill and was buried on Monday, Rev. Paul L Menzel conducting the service. She was born at Steinbach, Prussia, Oct. 16th, 1792, came to this country in 1833, and has lived in Dansville and on Sandy Hill nearly all of the time since. She numbered as descendants 9 children, 47 grandchildren, and 54 great-grandchildren. She was the mother of Mrs. James Krein of Dansville, Mrs. Hughes of East Hill and Fritz Lander of Sandy Hill.
