  Notes	Duncan graduated from the Alfred Agricultural University and began work (circa 1926 or so) at the Long Island Webb estate. (A "gentleman farm" located at Old Westbury, NY). He was the head gardner there until moving to Shelburne, VT in 1948, where he was employed as museum landscape planner and artist, acting as Mrs Electra Havameyer Webb's general artistic advisor for his lengthy tenure at Shelburne Museum of Early Americana which was started by Mrs Webb and endowed at approximately this time. Duncan was a multi-talented and creative artist who was also very skilled at making minature doll houses along with their entire, detailed interior funishings. Both his parents were born in Scotland.
