- Brian J. Kenney, 60, of Ossian Street in Dansville, passed away Friday morning (Jan. 30, 2009) at home following a short illness.
He was born Oct. 10, 1948, in Dansville, a son of Russell and Eileen (Howe) Kenney. On June 18, 1980, he was married to Kathy (Kennedy) Kenney, who predeceased him April 24, 1996. He was also predeceased by his mother, Eileen, in 2008 and a son, Todd Kenney, in 2002.
Brian graduated from Dansville Central School in 1968. He was a welder at Foster Wheeler Energy Corp. in Dansville for several years. He retired from the Jefferson Street IRA home in Dansville in November after 21 years of service. Brian was a former Little League coach and Cinderella softball coach and enjoyed being a part of his children?s and grandchildren?s lives. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose No. 1130, where he had served as a trustee.
He is survived by three daughters, Christine (Scott) Bindley, Kristina (Steve) Loop and Cassandra (Jonathon) Boor, all of Dansville; his father, Russell Kenney of Dansville; two brothers, Bruce (Gene) Kenney of Dansville and Barry (Monique Johnson) Kenney of Avoca; and twin sisters, Kim (Ellen Bonjorno) Kenney of Dansville and Kay (Alan) Fisher of Wayland; six grandchildren, Brandon and Logan Bindley, Kailey, Connor and Madison Boor and Ethan Loop; his mother-in-law, Vera Kennedy of Dansville; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the Hindle Funeral Home, 271 Main St., Dansville. A celebration of Brian?s life will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Dansville Moose?Club. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Dansville.
