    • He served in the American Revolution as a Private in Capt. Peter Talbot's Company in Col. Lemuel Robinson's Regiment, which marched on the alarm of 19Apr1775, he served 5 days. On 04Mar1776, Recompense, 5 days in Capt. Simeon Leech's Company of Guards which marched from Stoughton,MA at the time of the fortification of Dorchester Heights. In Capt. Robert Swans Co. under Col. Benjamin Gill's Regiment, Recompense, served 3 days and marched with the Company from Stoughton to Squanton(The Moon) 13Jun1776 after the British Fleet left Boston Harbor. Recompense had two children with his first wife and eleven with his second wife.
