  Notes	Arthur Wendall Griffin -Hornell Arthur W. Griffin ,71 of Hungry Hollow Road Hornell ,died Tuesday, (1-16-1979) at St.James Mercy Hospital,following a long illness. He was the son of David Griffin,and Bertha( Smith) Griffin.In his earlier years he had worked on his father's farm,in the town of Howard,on the Turnpike Rd.Later employed for 10 years ,by the Consolidated Brick Co. of Horseheads.He returned to Hornell about 15 years ago.More recently.Griffin was a Security Guard for the former Merrill Hosiery Firm,and Big N Store,until his retirement in 1972.He was a member of The Free Methodist Church,in Hornell. He is survived by his wife Frances Burdick Griffin;a step daughter Louise Chapman at home;three sisters,Mrs. Anna Richardson of Rochester,Mrs.Bernice Cook,and Mrs. Louella Horton of Hornell.Several nieces,and nephews.Friends may call at the Robertson Funeral Home.Funeral services are Saturday ,with the Rev.Russell Vincent,officating.Burial will be in thee Freemont Cem.in Stephens Mills.
