Ostrom of this city died Sunday afternoon, August 6, at 3:30 o'clock at the home of her niece, Mrs. Jared H. Smith. She was 88 years of age. Mrs. Ostrom was a devout member of the First Presbyterian church and until her advanced years and consequent feebleness prevented, was active in various church activities. She was the widow of Lyman Ostrom, who was killed in the Civil War. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon, August 8, from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jared H. Smith in Seneca county, and interment will be made in Grove cemetery, Trumansburg, N. Y. Mrs. Ostrom is survived by one son, William L. Ostrom, publisher of the Evening Herald, and two grandsons, Merle C. and Selden W. Ostrom, both of whom are also connected with the Herald.
