- Aaron Quimby was one of the incorporators of Weare, one of its first selectmen, served in the old French war, went on an expedition to Canada in 1755, and was a Captain in the Revolution. He was promoted to Major, came to Sandwich about 1779, bought four hundred acres on Rock Maple Ridge, North Sandwich (paying in continental script), where he afterwards lived, died and was buried in December, 1810.
