- Margaret A. "Mag" Novak, 88, of Heritage Hills, passed away peacefully Monday evening at the home of her niece in Pottsville, surrounded by her family.
Born in Duncott, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Snyder Walker.
A 1943 graduate of Minersville High School, she worked in the local garment industry. She later worked for Nancy's Fancy Flowers & Fruit, Saint Clair.
Margaret was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. She was also a member of the ILGWU, Minersville American Legion Ladies' Auxiliary and the Catholic Daughters of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Minersville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George "Gidge" Novak, Sept. 28, 1984; two brothers, F. Jack Walker, who was killed during the Korean Conflict, and Joseph Walker; four sisters, Mary McAllister, Ann Young, Elizabeth Brahler and Joan Runkle.
Mag is survived by two sisters-in-law, Virginia Walker, Palmyra, and Mary Novak, Minersville; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.
Interment in Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Branch Township. Dutcavich Funeral Home, Minersville, is entrusted with arrangements.
