- Geraldine T. Edgecomb, 86, passed away peacefully Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011 at McAuley Manor in North Hornell.
Geraldine was born May 24, 1924, in Dansville, a daughter of Gerald and Theresa (Amidon) Smalt. She was a former finisher at the Gunlocke Chair Company in Wayland, retiring with more than 35 years of dedicated service. In addition to her parents, she was also, predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Kimberlee Edgecomb.
Geraldine was a member of the Haskinsville Wesleyan Church and the Haskinsville Garden Club. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, feed the birds, and baking berry pies and making jams, especially with the berries she picked herself.
Geraldine is survived by her children, Charles Edgecomb of Wayland; Raymond (Donna) Edgecomb of Rochester; Caroline (Tom) Perkowski of Sacramento, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Tonya Perkowski, Carrie (Gary) Minsavage, Amy (David) Sheroshick, Wendy (Michael) Chace, William Edgecomb, Paul (Liz) Cordy and Jacob Cordy; nine great-grand-children; one brother, Harry (Mary) Smalt of Wayland; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends called 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Walter E. Baird & Sons Funeral Home, 300 W. Naples St., Wayland. Funeral services will be at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in the Village Cemetery, Wayland.
