- Harvey worked in his younger years as a hunting guide, camp cook and dude wrangler in the Jackson Hole Country in Wyoming. In later years he moved to Redding, California, where he worked as a carpenter and home building contractor. He was the prime contractor on the LDS Church building in Redding, and contributed to it. He was a well loved and respected citizen in Redding at the time of his death. He had one son, Gerry with his first wife. Russell, Margeret and Lewell with his third wife.
