He was the husband of Louisa Wombacker Evans with whom he celebrated 59 years of marriage on June 6th of last year. He was born Minersville, PA son of the late Raymond & Lillian Walker Evans. In the past he was a member of the Christiana United Methodist Church as well as a member of the Oregon Community United Methodist Church where he was on the Administrative Council, currently he attended worship at the Brethren Village Chapel. He was an LPN at the Coatesville VA Medical Center retiring in 1982 after 35 years. He was a veteran of W.W. II serving in the Army. Member of the Brandywine Goddard Lodge #383, F.&A.M. of Coatesville. He was an active volunteer at the Brethren Village for the 10 years that he lived there. Surviving besides his wife are 3 children: Mark David husband of Dolores Evans of Alburtis, PA, Thomas Edward husband of Vicki Graham Evans of Christiana, Jean Louise wife of Ted Ihrke of Lansing, KS,12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchild, 3 siblings: Lillian Dailey of Minersville, Verna Bosack of Llewellyn, PA, George husband of Margaret "Peg" Evans of Parkesburg. He was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren and 4 siblings.
A memorial service will take place from the Brethren Village Chapel, 3001 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA on Saturday, January 19th at 11 a.m. with a time to greet the family from 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be private in the Glen Run Cemetery, Atglen, PA. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Fund of the Brethren Village, 3001 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA 17606 or to Hospice & Community Care, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
