- There are two William Havens in Hector in 1855 - one is born c1831 farmer, owner of land and his mother Alma is living with him - both have been in town 15 years. The other is born c1832, single and a hired man, born in the town.
The 1860 census, there is only one William Havens, married to Mary A. Francisco and has two children; Eugene and Harriet. He later has a son Frank and in Frank's marriage record states his father, William, was born in Hector - this leads me to believe the 1860 Hector William is not the farmer William Havens of 1855. I shall attempt to find out what happened to William and his mother Alma in by 1860.
