Born in the town of Liberty son of Judson Lare and Esther Benton. He enlisted in the civil war and served in CO H of the 14drd Regiment. Married Nancy Elizabeth Wilson of Liberty township who died 6 years ago. Leaves a brother, Edward of Geneva, Ohio; 3 sons and 3 daughters - Frank M and Walter D on the farm; George and Mrs Nettie M Hammond of Middletown, and Mrs Jennie Stafford and Mrs A W Brand of Delhi.
