Benton, whose age was 70, was an old woodsman and hunter of the Egypt section, and was the man who about two years ago, while out hunting, mistook a boy’s gray cap for a woodchuck and sent a bullet through the hain of a son of Alfred Bryon, who was sitting on the opposite side of a rock, with nothing visible to Benton but the cap.
