He was a carpenter. Born June 10 1887, in Liberty township, Mr Benton was the son of James H and Dolly E Benton. He married Nancy J DAVIS January 20 1914 in Parksville. Survivors include three sons, Herman, Orville J and Wallace, all of Livingston Manor; three daughters, Mrs. Dolly Husch, Livingston Manor; Mrs Nancy Tompkins, Wawarsing; and Mrs. Reatha Jackson of Liberty; a sister - Mrs Nancy Lanier of San Diego, Calif; and 19 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. The Rev. Ralph C Gibvsonk pastor of the Liberty Baptist Church officiated at the rites.
