    Notes
    • Donald Barron (1896-1924) was the middle of three children of Dr. William Barron and his wife Julia (nee Blakeslee) Barron. He was born on October 19, 1896 probably in Addison, Steuben County, New York. His father was a local physician. Donald had an older sister, Dorothy, born in October, 1893, and his younger brother, Blakeselee, came along in March, 1900. Those were the only children William and Julia had. In the 1900 and the 1910 censuses, the family was living at 37 Maple Street. Donald was inducted into the Army in Corning, New York on September 3, 1918. Under organizations are listed “Co M 2 Provisional Regt 156, Dep Brig to October 9, 1918” and “Co D 549 Engineers to discharge.” He was listed as a private. He apparently did not serve overseas. His discharge came on January 6, 1919. According to the 1920 census, the only Donald Barron I could find was living in Quincy, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, single and working as a steel worker in a ship yard. He died, based on his birthdate, probably at age twenty eight, though nothing has come up as to cause of death, date, etc.
