- William C. Howell.
Death of the best known and most respected citizen of southern Seneca county. Mr. Howell had for years been actively associated with the business interest of Ovid, his first venture being with the firm of Howell & Horton, and in later years was associated with Kinne Bros, & Howell, conducted a private bank for a number of years and at the time of his death was one of the leading merchants of the village. Mr. Howell was by nature endowed with a big heart, sunny disposition and a smile that was known by every man, woman and child in the surrounding country. His innate love for children was perhaps his most lovable quality, while he unfortunately had no children he brought up and fathered Jamia Corwin and Claire Foster, his generosity and kindness to these two children will long remain in the minds of those who knew him especially during the childhood of these two children as no parent could have been more devoted or kept a more loving or paternal watch.
