  Notes	Funeral services were held a 2 p.m. Tuesday for Mrs. S. S. (Fannie Maxwell) Carman, 86, who died Friday night at her home in Brookings following an extended illness. Rev. G. A. Evans officiated at the last rites at the Free Methodist Church. Mrs. Carman was born February 8, 1871, at Cambridge, Iowa, and she became the bride of S. S. Carman in a ceremony at Cambridge on March 24, 1897. The family has resided in South Dakota since 1901 and in Brookings since 1942. Survivors include her husband and the following sons and daughters: Ole, St. Louis, Missouri; George, Maywood, California; Robert, San Francisco, California; Joe, Sioux Falls; Angeline, at home; Mrs. C. A. Kjenslee, Brookings; Mrs. Wallace Dibben and Mrs. Harold Varns, Flandreau; and Mrs. Ray Justus, Watertown. Also surviving are twenty-two grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Logan Maxwell of Albuquerque, New Mexico and a sister, Etta, Chicago. She was preceded in death by a son, Dean, who died in infancy in 1900. Mrs. Carman was a member of the WMS of the Free Methodist church. Music at Tuesday's rites was furnished by Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Martin, while Hubbard Haywood was pianist. Burial was in the Aurora cemetery, and the following served as pallbearers: Howard Larson, Al Warner, William Heesch, Herman Reemts, Selmer Nannastad and Chris Lynch.
