She started teaching the 4th & 5th grade at I Street School in San Bernardino in 1912-1914 and then to Metcalf 1915-1919, F Street 1919-1920, Baseline 1921 and spent many years teaching penmanship at Sturges Junior High.
She was very active in the San Bernardino Valley Audubon Society, holding several offices over many years. Loved to host the Bridge Club. Was a staunch advocate for the wildlife refuge in the Inland lake area of San Bernardino.
"Teaching was her greatest reward".
She was a Charter Member of the San Bernardino Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution(Jehias Harmon (1762-1845) CT PVT)
