  Notes	Death of an Old Resident of Sparta. Mrs. Rebecca Hamsher died at the residence of her daughter Mrs. P. J. Oberdorf in Rochester yesterday of the grip. She went there a few weeks ago and was taken sick immediately. Mrs. Hamsher was the widow of Bernard Hamsher, one of the early settlers of Sparta, who died nearly thirty years ago. She was born in Pennsylvania, her maiden name being Fleck, and she is the last of a large family, all of whom lived to be very old. Mrs. Hamsher being about 90, her sister Mrs. Susan Dippy died at the age of 93, and Mrs. Poor of Wayland being about 96 when she died. Mrs. Hamsher was remarkably active all her life and she retained all her faculties to the end. The children who survive are Mrs. Oberdorf, Mrs. Geo. Hartman of this village, Martin Hamsher of Ossian and Jonas Hamsher of Sparta. The remains will probably be brought her but we have not learned when the funeral will be held.
