sawmill and carried on a successful business for some years. In 1894,
he purchased a farm in Pomeroy,Wash., where the remainder of his life
was spent. He was County Auditor of Garfield Co. for two terms. Mr.
Sanford was an honest and respected citizen, an efficent and
industrious officer, and a kind Christian man. His widow and sons
reside on the home farm(1910).
