    • The Will of Thomas Newhall, dated 1 Apr 1668, received in Court 30 Apr
      1674. "I bequeath my twelve acres of salt marsh to my son Thomas & my
      son John Newhall, the six acres that my son Tho: shall have, is the 3
      acres in Rumney Marsh neere the Iland, and the rest is a pcell lying
      in the Towne marsh called Gaines his neck and an other pcell lying in
      the Towne marsh adjoyning to my brother ffarrington.And the six acres
      taht my son John shall have lyeth in the last devission in Rumney
      Marsh, but if my son John shoud have noe child before he dieth then
      the 6 acres I give to my son John, to returne to my son Thomas and his
      heires forever but if my son John should have a
      child or children, then the said 6 acres to be at his owne dispose
      forever. I bequeath to my son Richard Haven his children 20 pounds to
      be equally divided amongst them, namely betweene Joseph Haven, Richard
      Haven, Sarah Haven, Nathaniell Haven and Moses this not to be paid
      till they come to the age of 21 yeares: I bequeath to my son Thomas
      Brownes his children 20 pounds, equally to be divided between them and
      the 16 pounds which he hath already of mine in his hands to be pt of
      this twenty pounds I give to his children. I bequeath to my two
      daughters, susana Haven and Mary Browne each of them a pr of sheetes
      and each of the two pillow beers. Alsoe I constitut and make my
      lawfull and sole executor and to pfrom this my last will and
      testament, my son Thomas Newhall. I doe alsoe bequeath to my son
      Thomas Newhall his children 30 pounds and that this is my true will
      and testament I have sett to my hand this first of aprill, 1668"
      Witnesses were Thomas Laighton and Robert Potter and it was signed
      with a large T the mark of Thomas Newhall ,Sen. The estate appraized
      25 Apr 1674 at 173 pounds 1s. 7 1/2p. - old dwelling house barne, 6
      acres of upland 12 acres of meadow - 95 pounds. 30 acres in the woods
      30 pounds. Thomas had a brother Anthony also of Lynn. (Source:The
