  Notes	It is uncertain when her father Thornton Russel, moved his family to Missouri. It is believed they stayed in Kentucky a short time before continuing on to Missouri. Thornton Russell is listed in the 1850 Census in Livingston County, Missouri. Mary Jane was believed to be a very religious person. It was related by Mrs. Ida McCormick, a descendant of Richard Russell, Mary Jane's brother, that the Grandchildren of Mary Jane would rather stay with the other Grandparents because Mary Jane would force them to study the Bible during their entire stay. In the last of their years, Porter and Mary Jane lived apart. Mary Jane lived with her daughter Nora (Aunt Noan) Burgard, until her death in 1911.
