  	American Revolution "On Dec. 21, 1774, John Griesemer was elected by the freeholders of the county a member of the Committee of Observation for the county and reelected Sept. 27, 1775. This committee, in which he represented Whitehall township, was composed of leading men from each township, who took the first steps leading to independence in the county and who were the leading spirits during the Revolution. His three sons also served in the war.

  Notes	John and his wife were the first settlers along Ceder Creek in Northampton County,PA. There they owned 600 acres of land and were members of the Zion Reformed Church. John was naturalized 24 Sep 1767. He was a prominent leading citizen. During the American Revolution he a member of the Committee of Obervation for Northampton County in December 1774 and was re-elected 27 Sep 1775. All his three sons served in the American Revolution as true Patriots.
