    Notes:

    Donna J. Wilkins, 84, formerly of 50 Willow Place, and a resident of
    the Elder Care Home, died early Monday morning (Oct. 28, 2002) at St.
    James Mercy Hospital, after a long illness.
    Born in Cohocton on June 27, 1918, she was a daughter of the late
    Albert and Addie Harter Lander. On May 13, 1940, she was married in
    Cohocton to Max F. Wilkins, a well known Hornell businessman and
    automobile dealer, who predeceased her on Jan. 27, 2001.
    Donna assisted Max in the operation of Wilkins Service, Inc., where
    she served as vice president and secretary until her retirement in
    1991.
    A graduate of the former North Cohocton-Atlanta High School, she was
    also a graduate of the former Bath Memorial Hospital School of
    Nursing, where she received her R.N.
    She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hornell, the St.
    James Mercy Hospital Auxiliary, the Chemung Valley Region Antique Car
    Club and the Buick Club.
    Donna and Max also purchased and refurbished the old DL & W Railroad
    Station in Atlanta.
    Her family includes her son, Terry Wilkins and Linda of Cohocton; her
    three grandchildren, Elizabeth Wilkins of New Jersey, John (Tracey)
    Wilkins of Connecticut and Douglas (Sue) Wilkins of Cohocton; her two
    great-grandchildren, Miles and Hannah Wilkins; her brother-in-law and
    sister-in-law, L.D. and Phyllis Wilkins of Columbus, Ohio; also her
    loving and devoted friends, Shelly and Glenn Thomas of North Hornell
    and Roxanne and Calvin Sanford of Hornell.
    Besides her parents and husband, Donna was predeceased by her sister,
    Beatrice Wheaton in May 2002.
    Calling hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Bishop &
    Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St., Hornell. A funeral service
    will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church, with
    the Rev. Beth Kottemann officiating. Committal services and interment
    will follow at the Arkport Cemetery.
