    Sparta, passed away Monday morning, March 16, 1998 at Ira Davenport
    Hospital in Bath after a long illness.
    She was born in Sparta, on September 17, 1916, a daughter of Charles
    A. and Flora Wagner Hamsher. On August 29, 1936 she was married to
    William Lowell Learn Sr., who died on May 22, 1994. She was also
    predeceased by a brother Charles W. Hamsher, Sr.
    Evelyn worked for the Blum Shoe Factory, in Dansville as a seamstress
    for many years, she had also worked as a welder at Foster Wheeler
    Energy Corp. of Dansville during WWII.
    She was a member of the West Sparta United Methodist Church and had
    been active in the Ladies Aide at the Church.
    She is survived by a son William L. (Susan) Learn Jr., of Ossian;
    three daughters, Barbara (Gerald M.) Cooper of Dansville, Betty (Hugh,
    Jr.) Jones of Avoca, and Bonnie (Warren) Powell of Rochester; a sister
    Lydia Weiler of Dansville; sixteen grand-children; nineteen
    great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
    Friends called Wednesday at the Hindle Funeral Home, 271 Main St.,
    Dansville, where services were held Thursday, at 11 a.m. with the Rev.
    Peter Del Rio officiating. Interment was in Oak Lawn Cemetery, West
    Sparta.

    Lydia M. Weiler, 84, formerly of Gibson Street Extension, Dansville, passed away early Sunday evening (Aug. 25, 2002) at the Livingston County SNF, Mt. Morris, where she had been a resident for the past few weeks. She was born in Sparta on Nov. 13, 1917, a daughter of the late Charles A. and Flora Wagner Hamsher. On Oct. 12, 1953, she was married to Frederick M. Weiler, who predeceased her on Sept. 24, 1993. She was also predeceased by a brother, Charles Hamsher, and a sister, Evelyn Learn. Lydia was a welder at Foster Wheeler Energy Corp., Dansville, during WWII. Lydia and her husband, Fred, owned and operated Freddy's Ready Hot's in Dansville, Cohocton and Hemlock. She had also worked in the cafeteria at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville for 10 years, retiring in 1983. Lydia is survived by a son, Frederick C. (Linda) Weiler of Churchville; two daughters, Sue (John) Hill and Judy (Bill) Farrell, both of Dansville; 20 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hindle Funeral Home, 271 Main St., Dansville, where services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. G. Calvin Sheasley officiating. Interment will be in Kiehle Cemetery, Sparta.     Charles W. Hamsher, Sr., 76, of Reeds Corners Rd., Sparta, passed away Thursday morning, July 20, 1995, in the home he was born in with his children and grandchildren at his bedside. He was born in Sparta on Jan. 11, 1919, the son of Charles A. and Flora Wagner Hamsher. On July 10, 1938, he married Dorothy Gates, who passed away in August of 1988. He was also predeceased by a son, James M. Hamsher. Charles went to work on the Far View family farm as a young man and worked the farm until he retired in 1989. He and his wife Dorothy were founding members of the Sparta Center Fire Department. He was also a member of the Dansville Grange. He is survived by his son, Charles W. Jr. of Sparta; two daughters, Carol (Robert) Carberry and Janice (Malcolm) Jarvis, both of Dansville; two sisters, Evelyn Learn of West Sparta and Lydia Weiler of Dansville; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grand-children; several nieces and nephews; and his loyal dog Pepper. Friends called Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hindle Funeral Home, 271 Main St., Dansville, where services were held Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. G. Calvin Sheasley and the Rev. Seymour Gilbert officiating. Interment was in Kiehle Cemetery, Sparta. Family and friends were also invited to attend a luncheon at the Sparta Center Fire Hall immediately following the committal service. Judy worked as a cook at the Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville for more than 25 years. She was a member of the Dansville Moose Club for more than 40 years, where she was a dedicated volunteer for many of the functions they did. She married Bill Farrell in 1990. Most of all Judy love spending time with her family and friends, and enjoyed cooking and baking. She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Farrell of Dansville, children, Hope (William) Abbey of Wayland, Terry (Connie) Kysor of Nashua, N.H., Melanie Doyle of Rochester, Harold (Mary Ellen) Kysor of Denver, Colo., Rita Wolfer of Dansville; many grandchildren and great-grand-children; a sister, Sue (John) Hill of Dansville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.     Charles W. "Charlie" Hamsher Jr. age 80, passed away Wednesday morning November 13, 2019, at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris. He was born in Wayland on April 13, 1939, a son of the late Charles W. and Dorothy Mae (Gates) Hamsher Sr. He was also predeceased by his brother James Hamsher, and a grandson Joshua Griffith. Charles was a farmer like his father, on the family farm in Sparta NY. In the 1990's Charles sold the farm and went to work for the Livingston County Highway Dept. based in Groveland NY as a Truck Driver. He was a Charter Member of the Sparta Center Volunteer Fire Department. He loved spending his time, farming, and hunting and taking rides through the country in his pickup truck. He was a founding member of the Hamsher Rangers in the late 1960's. He is survived by his daughters, Colleen (Jeff) Drake, Darlene (Sam) Bozzette, Tammy (Darrell) Lemen, Pam (Mike) Van Scooter, his sisters, Carol Carberry, and Janice (Malcolm) Jarvis, eight grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, Interment Kiehle Cemetery, Sparta, New York.

    Benjamin M. "Ben" Weiler age 44, passed away late Monday morning February 18, 2019, surrounded by his wife and children following a battle with cancer.

    He was born in Dansville on February 7, 1975. He was a son of Frederick and Linda (Smalt) Weiler. On July 28, 2012, he was married to Saunya Kramer Weiler, who survives.

    Ben was a heavy equipment operator for Local 158 Operator's Union. He worked very hard to support his growing family and to provide for their needs. In his free time, he enjoyed riding motorcycle and snowmobiling.

    Surviving in addition to his wife Saunya are three daughters, Kali Rollman, Kristen and Kari Weiler, three sons, Kyle Weiler, Devon and Seth Ebert, a granddaughter Lydia Mae Weiler, dear grandmother Esther Prouty, parents Fred and Linda Weiler, siblings, Brenda (Eric) Tenpast, Brian (Linda) Norton, Matthew (Wendy) Weiler, Shannon Bazan and Jonathon Call, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
