- A last rite was conducted Monday in the Chamberlin Funeral Home here for Bert Caton, 89, of Dansville RD 2 who died Friday (Sept. 16, 1983) in the Bath Veterans Hospital following a long illness.
A native of Sparta, he was a life resident of this area. He was an Army veteran of World War I and was a retired farmer.
Surviving are his wife, Bertha Tuttle Caton; two sons, Elmer of Nunda and Shirley of Dans-ville; three daughters, Anna Maples, Ruth Wheaton and Lavone Levee, all of Dansville; and 13 grandchildren.
Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery, West Sparta. (GCE, September 22, 1983, p5)
