  Notes	Death of Mrs. George W. Johns Mrs. Mary E. Johns, wife of Geo. W. Johns of Rochester, died Tuesday evening, aged 73 years. She was the daughter of Conrad Hamsher, one of the earliest settlers in the town of Sparta. She leaves besides her husband two daughters, Mrs. W. M. Butler of Rochester and Mrs. Walter Dixon of East Bethany, Genesse Co., and three sisters, Mrs. Zerfass of Sparta, Mrs. John Sample of Ossian and Mrs. Jesse Carney of Springwater. Mrs. Johns was for a number of years a resident of this village and moved to Rochester with family about 1880, where Mr. Johns engaged in the drug business. Funeral will be held Saturday at one o'clock from Miss Kiehle's residence on Ossian Street. (Dansville Express, Dansville NY, Thursday, January 14, 1904)
