    • Always known as just "K Allen". In 1880 he is living with his wife and grandparents (Abner and Polly Allen) in Alfred,NY. His first wife and he divorced and they both remarried. Grandma said he played a violin and was at one time playing for the "Boston Pops."

      1900 April 11, Wednesday - Alfred Sun - Almond Department - K. Allen and wife have moved from the Turnpike to the house recently vacated by Orville Smith.

      1900 July 4, Wednesday - Alfred Sun - Almond Department - K.Allen has severed his connection with the Almond Creamery for a while.

      1905 Jul 5, Wednesday- Alfred Sun - Almond Affairs - K. Allen has moved to Gainsville, NY where he will work in a creamery.

      1905 Aug 20 - Viola, wife of K Allen, writes letter to her sister, Angie Stanley(in Hornell), stating that Hobart will be alright and able to attend all the ball games, Miles leg has got nearly well, she won't be able to come to the Fair with so much work to do, however, Milton will be at there (had been at his other grandmothers house), she tells her sister to be sure and get him back on the train to Rock Glen on Sept 4 because school starts the following week. There was also talk of a new creamery being built there and possible better wages for K.. Also, the black berries are in and she has only gone out once so far.

      1907 August - Hobart, son of K.Allen, dies in farm accident in Orangeville, Wyoming Co., NY, up the road from the creamery where K was working at the time. It had been K's second season there.

      1908 February 12, Wednesday - Alfred Sun - McHenry Valley - K.Allen is helping care for his mother who is quite sick.

      1908 April 28, Wednesday - Alfred Sun - McHenry Valley(April 26) - K. Allen visited friends in this valley Tuesday and Wednesday. He begins his summer work in the Birdsail cheese factory today.

      1914 January 8, Thursday Allegany Ccounty News, Whitesville, NY - Shongo - K. Allen of Almond, who was our capable cheese-maker last season, returned to visit friends here, accompanied by his bride, she was formerly Mrs. Edith Jotry of Boston, Mass. Mrs. Allen is a fine pianist, having had several years of study at the Boston Conservatory of Music. They have returned to Boston, where they are to make their future heme. Mr. Allen is a very good violinist.

      1914 April 2, Thursday, Allegany Ccounty News, Whitesville, NY - SHONGO - Will Make Cheese at Shongo - SHONGO, Mar. 30 - Mr. and Mrs. K. Allen are expected to arrive here this week and make their home here, as Mr. Allen is to make cheese here again this season. Mr. Allen is a good violinist while his wife is a fine pianist, having been a pupil at the Boston Conservatory of Music for a number of years. They will be welcome here.

      1914 April 16, Thursday, Allegany County News, Whitesville, NY - Has Returned to Shongo - SHONGO, April 13— K. Allen, who has spent the winter in Boston, Mass returned to this place Friday, and haa been preparing the cheese factor for making cheese. Mrs. Allen and daughter Vivian, will join him about May 1st.

      1924 March 17, Monday - Hornell Evening Tribune-Timees - Mrs. Allen Dies In Vermont - The funeral of Mrs. Laura E. Allen. 43 years old, who died Thursday in Burlington, Vt., was held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Presbyterian church in Almond. Burial took place in Woodlawn cemetery at Almond. The family formerly lived in Almond, having moved to Vermont three years ago. Besides her husband, K. Allen, she is survived by one son, Fred Jotry, of Shinglehouse, Pa., and a stepson, J. Milton Allen, of Olean.

      1934 December 1, Saturday - Olean Times-Herald - Conduct Funeral of K. Allen Friday - The funeral of K. Alien was held from the Union Church of Almond, N. Y. Friday afternoon at two o'clock. The Rev F W. Jackson officiated. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery. During the services Mrs. Ostrander, organist played “O Love That Will Not Let Me Go." The pallbearers were Royce Lonsberry, George Allen, Roy Allen, George Travis, Leon Stuck and Abner Allen. Mr and Mrs. James M. Allen and family of this city attended the services.

      1934 December 6, Bolivar Breeze - Funeral Held for Former resident of Bolivar - Funeral services were held Friday at Union church. Almond, for K. Allen of Almond and a former resident of Bolivar and Little Genesee. The Rev.F. W. Jackson officiated with burial in Woodlawn cemetery. Almond. Mr. Allen died Wednesday. Nov. 28, at the age of 78. He was born Dec. 30. 1861 at Almond, N. Y. He lived in Bolivar for several years during the early oil excitement here. A cheesemaker by trade he operated a factory at Little Genesee about 15 years ago. He was a member of the Presbyterian church. He is survived by his son, James M. Allen of Almond; his daughter. Mrs. Joel Burdett of Hornell; three brothers, Abner, Vern and Roger, all of Almond
