She had resided in Naples about 18 years and had a large circle of acquaintances and friends. She was married to James Sims in 1853. She united with the church many years ago in Yates county. She was a constant attendant upon church services until failing health confined her to her home. She was always hospitable to ministers and was in the habit of inviting them to her home, there to meet her neighbors and family. Just before her death she conversed religiously with one of her sisters. She was a great sufferer to the last. The funeral was very largely attended, and the burial took place at Hunts Hollow. She leaves a husband, two adopted children, a brother in East Pike, one in Cohocton, two sisters in the West, and another sister, Mrs. Garfield, in Naples.
