  Notes	David B. Brooks, aged 78, died at his home in this town, Monday. He was familiarly known as "Lew" and was the father of Joseph and Sterling Brooks. (The Plaindealer, Bath, NY, Saturday, March 20, 1897) David B. Brooks died at the old homestead, on the turnpike, four and a half miles west of the Bath village, on Monday, aged 78 years. The Brooks family came to Bath nearly seventy years ago from New Jersey. Mr. Brooks had three brothers and two sisters, all of whom passed away before him. He leaves two sons, Sterling and Joseph. He was a kind and obliging neighbor, a good, practical farmer, and an honest man. The internment was in Grove cemetery. (The Steuben Courier, Bath, NY, Friday, March 19, 1897)
