- AVOCA RESIDENT PASSES AWAY
Hiram Shaut, one of the oldest residents of the town of Avoca, died at his home on Sunday morning following an illness of many weeks. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Shaut. He was 73 years old and his entire life had been spent in the vicinity of Avoca. Mr. Shaut is survived by his wife and eleven children, namely: Charles, of Avoca; Rev. Marshall M., of Woodhull; Walter of Howard; Robert, of Hammondsport; Mrs. Edward Phillips of Prattsburg; Mrs. Deyo Peck, of Hornell; Mrs. William Chapman, of Naples; Mrs. Walter Morrison, of Bath; Mrs. Floyd H. Clark, of Avoca; Miss Eunice and Gertrude Shaut, of Avoca.
