Hammondsport NY - Jared Wilson Jenkins, 95, died at his home on Thorp Avenue Monday, after several months' illness. He had lived in Hammondsport nine years, coming here from near Hornell where he had engaged in farming most of his life. He was a veteran of the Civil War, serving in the First New York Volunteers. He was a member of GAR. He was married in Hornell 50 years ago to Ella Hartrum, who survives with a daughter, Mrs. Flossie Ryan of Elmira, and one son, Wilson, at home; 12 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren; one brother, Edson, of Purdy Creek. The funeral was held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Bond funeral home, with burial in Hartsville, N.Y. The Rev. W. H. Perry of the Presbyterian Church officiated.
