As a young man he worked at the Durkees Bakery in Cortland, was a Navy Veteran of WWII, and retired after 35 years with Carrier Corp. Dean was a former member of the East Syracuse Village Board and its former Water Commissioner. He was a lifetime member of the Apulia Fire Company and past Fabius District Fire Commissioner. He was predeceased by his wife of 41 years, Beatrice Miller Wadsworth.
He is survived by his love of 24 years, Wanda Sharkey of Apulia; his children, Dean (Diana) Wadsworth Jr. of Apulia, Linda (Brent) Graves of Jamesville, Ann (John) Butwyn of Jamesville; two grandchildren, Daniel Wadsworth of Apulia, Mary Butwyn of Iceland; Wanda's Children, Vicki MacTavish and Charles Cook and their families; several nieces and a nephew. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Hartwell Funeral Home, 461 Route 281, Tully. Interment: Glenwood Cemetery, Homer. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m.
