- Ada E. Johnston-Little, 86, formerly of Cunningham Creek Road, died Monday (March 26, 3001) at Hornell Gardens, where she had resided the last 3 1/2 years. She was born July 4, 1914, in Almond to Fay and Sarah Stearns Ferrin. She is predeceased by her husband, Albert Little, and also by Clarence Johnston, whom she lived with for many years. She was also predeceased by two sons, Ernest Little and James Johnston; a sister, Irene George, and two brothers, Charles and William Ferrin. She was a housewife and mother who loved to sew, crochet, and knit. In earlier years she had worked for the former Gilberts Horseradish Factory in Hornell. She was also a 25-year member of the Canisteo Grange. Survivors include two sons, Albert (Catherine) Little of Belfast and Gerald Little of Nunda; one daughter, Jane (Charles) Butler of Canisteo; two sisters, Ruby Jennings of Belmont and Alice Stephens of Birdsall; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home in Canisteo, where a funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John Sawyer officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Canisteo. Memorials in the name of Ada Johnston-Little may be made to Hornell Gardens, 434 Monroe Ave., Hornell, N.Y. 14843.
