"Henry Stalee's 2nd wife Elizabeth (or Betsey) Carncroas Stalee was paid a pension from 20 Apr 1878 until she died in 1895. Henry was paid the pension starting in April 10, 1871. Henry, by the way, only served for 2 months and 7 days. He enlisted at Oppenheim, N.Y. , mustered in on 7 Sep 1814 and discharged on 14 November 1814. C.B. talks about how Henry told many tall tales to his (C.B's grandfather (Jacob W. Staley).
(Pat Carey pcarey99@nycap.rr.com) - Henry Staley that served in the War of 1812 and received a pension of $39.00, of Johnstown,NY. There is a record of Betsey Stalee recieving Pension from the US in 1883, living in Fulton Co.,NY...needs further research.
The 1820 shows Henry living as a farmer Johnstown,NY with the following persons: 110100-00101 or 1 male(<10: poss.son John H.), 1 male(<16: poss.brother Philip),1 male(<26: Henry,,his birthday being in July would make him 26 at the time of the census if he is born in 1793 and the census were done before July) also 1 female(16-26: poss.wife), and female(45+: poss.mother).

Be it remembered, that heretofore, to wit; on the fourteenth day of November in the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy four George H. Stalee, one of the executors named in the last will and testament of Henry Stalee late of Johnstown, Fulton County, New York, deceased, appeared in open court before the Surrogate of the County of Fulton; and made application to have the said last will and testament, which relates to both real and personal estate, proved; and on such application the Surrogate did ascertain by satisfactory evidence who
were the widow, heirs and next of kin of the said testator and their respective residences; and said Surrogate did thereupon issue a citation in due form of law, directed to said widow, heirs and next of kin by their respective names stating their respective places of residence requiring them to appear before said Surrogate at his office, in the Village of Johnstown in said county on the fourth day of January one thousand eight hundred and seventy five to attend the probate of the said will. And afterwards, to wit on the said fourth day of January satisfactory evidence by affidavit was produced and presented to said Surrogate of the service of the said citation, in the mode prescribed by law; and on that day it having appeared from the petition in this matter that some of the heirs and next of kin are minors and having no general guardian a special guardian was appointed in due form of law to take care of their interests in the matter of proving the said will by an order entered for that purpose by said surrogate, and on said last mentioned day no one appearing to oppose the probate of said will and such proceedings were thereupon had afterwards, that the Surrogate took the proof of said will hereinafter set forth upon this fourth day of January in the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy five and he adjudged the said will to be a valid will of real and personal estate and the proofs thereof to be sufficient; which said last will and estament and proofs are as follows, that is to say:
WILL
Know all men by these presents that I, Henry Stalee, of the town of Johnstown in the County of Fulton and state of New York being of sound mind memory and understanding do make publish and declare this to be my last will and testament that is to say
1st I order and direct that my executors hereinafter named pay all my just debts and funeral charges as soon after my decease as conveniently may be.
2nd Whereas my sons John H Stalee, George H Stalee, Isaac Stalee and Abraham Stalee and my daughters, Rebecca House, Catharine Peters, Mary Martha Young, Hannah Margaret Clement and Emuletta Stalee having received what I consider there just and equal proportion of my estate therefore I make no provision for them in this my last will and testament.
3rd I give and bequeath to my son Jacob Stalee three hundred dollars
4th I give and bequeath to Harriett Carncroas two hundred dollars
5th I give bequeath and devise to my son William Stalee and my daughter Helen Stalee all my real and personal estate subject to the bequest above named that I may be possessed of at the time of my decrease to be divided between them as follows, William as to have two thirds and Helen one third subject however to the bequests hereinafter named
6th I give and bequeath to my wife Betsy the use and occupation rents and profits of all my real and personal estate until my son William becomes twenty one years of age or until the time arrives when my said son William would be twenty one years of age and then to receive out of my said estate four hundred dollars and her support on the premises in a good comfortable manner according to her age and circumstances during her widowhood. The bequests hereby made to my wife Betsy is on the express condition that she accept of the provisions herein made for her in lieu of her dower right, otherwise of no effect. I also make in obligatory and binding upon my wife Betsy to provide for and support my son William and my daughter Helen both in sickness and in health until they respectively become of age and give to each good common school education.
7th I do hereby nominate and appoint my wife Betsy executrix and my two sons Jacob Stalee and George H Stalee executors of this my last will and testament and hereby expressly make all and every former will by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 20th dayof March 1863.
